The Three Compasses
Image:
The Three Compasses is a family friendly pub and restaurant with a wholesome variety of fresh food on our extensive menu. We also have a wide range of continental lagers, local beers, fresh fruit smoothies and a selection of coffees and pastries.
The pub is in the country hamlet of Aldenham off the A41 near Watford Town and the Hilton Hotel.
Dating back to the 18th century The Three Compasses is a grade II listed building with a lot of history. As a result of this, the pub's character has been retained with timber beams and two open fires.
Patchetts Green dates back to the 11th Century around the time of the Norman Conquest, and the Village Green has been a gathering place throughout the last millenium.
An Alehouse has stood by the green for almost as long and was reputedly visited in the 17th Century by Cromwell's men at the time of the civil war and by the infamous Highwayman Dick Turpin in the 18th Century. Our more recent claim to fame was featuring as "The Black Swan" in the film 633 Squadron.
Jenny and her team look forward to welcoming you soon.
